Supporting leaders all year round!

Trustee flyer

“Trustees are the people in charge of a charity. They play a vital role, volunteering their time and working together to make important decisions about the charity’s work. Trustees’ Week is an annual event to showcase the great work that trustees do and highlight opportunities for people from all walks of life to get involved and make a difference.”

From the Trustees’ Week website

Trustees’ Week runs from 10th-16th November and up and down the country, organisations are marking it with events and activities. The Trustees Week website is full of helpful information about what’s happening around that week and also has lots of useful guidance too.

In Dudley borough we’re running free drop-in sessions called ‘Leading community organisations’. We’ve used that title to reflect the diversity of the sector we support; we support charities, led by trustees, community groups led by committees, social enterprises and not-for-private-profit companies, led by directors and individuals who want to start something brand new to make a difference in their community. So whatever people call themselves, whether they’ve been leading a community organisation for years or whether they’re just starting out, or drop-in session will be for them. Anyone is welcome to come and learn more about what the role involves!

And if you can’t make those dates? No problem! All through the year we support individual trustees, committee members, directors or leaders through training and one-to-one guidance. We can work with whole boards to help people in these important role to understand their responsibilities, work together to develop their organisation, run their group effectively and make a real difference. So if your organisation is based in Dudley borough or if you’re thinking about setting up a new project to benefit the community, you’re welcome to give us a call on 01384 573381 and arrange a meeting.

  1. Thank you so much for the time you gave us on Thursday afternoon, Becky. It was a very interesting opportunity to think about the role of trustees and what we can do to develop our charity. We may well attend the social media workshop in Dudley you mentioned to us. Thanks again!

    • You’re welcome, Nicki! I’m so pleased the drop in was a useful start for you. I enjoyed doing some ideas storming with you – let’s hope some of them help to develop your board! It will be lovely to see you if you can make it to the next social media surgery. I spoke about this with Lorna on Friday and if you can’t make it next Tuesday, we wondered about organising one that’s more convenient for you (time and location-wise) but which would be open to other organisations too. I’ll email you about this if you think it’s something you’d like.

      Best wishes,
