June Bowen our wonderful Dudley CVS volunteer has just received an award from West Midlands Police, having been given a Community Hero Award at a celebration last week.

Although June is an octogenarian, she is a fit, healthy and active citizen which is demonstrated by her amazing capacity to volunteer her time and efforts.  She has been a Scout leader for over 60 years, working weekly with a group of scouts in Brierley Hill as well as attending other events, camps etc. Activities which have provided the young people with a sense of belonging, purpose, ‘right and wrong’  and effective life skills that have definatey contributed the the ASB reduction agenda.
